The desert is one of my favorite landscapes to capture.  The harsh conditions lend themselves to a unique softness when captured in the morning and afternoon light.  ND filters help to give the clouds the extra ethereal effects.

This doesn't really do it justice.  Poppies as far as the eye could see.  It was like a fairy tale except the wind was blowing making it very difficult to get a peaceful looking photo.  Even at a higher ISO, and wide open aperture you can see the motion blur.
